If your first day at a new store ends with empty shelves, you either did something really right or something really, really wrong.

Unfortunately, this story falls into the latter camp. The newly-opened Dream Bazaar in Karachi, Pakistan was heavily promoted as the country’s largest thrift store, offering incredible discounts on designer clothing, home goods and accessories. To spice up the offer, it was announced that the store would be giving customers a special discount on its first day.

The idea of scoring deals on such high-end goods led to a lot of people coming to the shop’s opening. However, it also led to a lot of people looting the store, taking pretty much everything off the shelves and leaving the place an absolute mess.
